Vintage 1930s Czechoslovakian carnelian and brass necklace

An Art Deco collar necklace with a carved carnelian centerpiece and a beaded collar. Carnelian is a semi-precious stone ranging in color from grapefruit/orange to oxblood red. It was enormously popular in Art Deco costume jewelry, appearing both as round beads and carved panels. It was often imitated with red molded glass but this necklace contains real stones. The chain is made of round glass bead with a few filigree stations. A pretty floral cast link leads to the decorative brass pendant, which is set with carved carnelian and accented with enamel flourishes and further glass cabochons.
