929 bottles. Logos 2015 is one of those confidential cuvées that alone tells a part of Timothée Stroebel's work. A single plot, Les Hazardes, in Villers-Allerand, a single grape variety, Pinot Noir, and a desire to take it far beyond the usual codes of Blanc de Noirs. The 2015 vintage gives it a dense, ripe, deeply vinous texture. Stroebel works it in wood, without filtration or dosage, and above all, allows the Pinot time to develop. The tirage only takes place in September 2016. Behind the effervescence, we already find this fascination for still wine that runs through all his work: texture, depth, and mouthfeel are as important as tension or brilliance. With more than ten years of hindsight on the vintage, Logos enters that zone of maturity that we adore in great grower Champagnes. The fruit darkens, spices and smoky notes appear, the material gains in patina while bitterness prolongs the wine. A Champagne to be served as Stroebel seems to have intended it: not as a precious bubble, but as a great Pinot Noir from Villers-Allerand. A bottle that has become extremely rare, but above all a magnificent piece of Stroebel's history.
