A beautifully designed copper serving tray with delicate details. Etching features a floral repeating design around the scalloped edge. Copper has been polished with high luster and beautiful warmth. The back of the tray is stamped "J.S. & S. Solid Copper Made in England", indicating production by Joseph Sankey & Sons, c1900. An elegant tray for serving drinks or decorating a vignette in your home. Joseph Sankey & Sons was a highly successful British metalworking company famous for producing mass-market, decorative Art Nouveau and Arts & Crafts style brass and copper homewares between roughly 1890 and 1930. Operating out of the Albert Street Works in Bilston, Staffordshire (now part of Wolverhampton), the firm successfully bridged the gap between handmade craftsmanship and industrial mass production by using patented mechanical stamping techniques to emboss beautiful, intricate patterns onto sheet metal. Sourced from England.
