20mm Plaster-In Aluminium LED Profile with Milky Diffuser Create a professional, fully integrated line of LED lighting with this 20mm plaster-in aluminium LED profile. Designed for installation within plasterboard walls and ceilings, the profile features perforated plastering wings that allow it to be covered and blended into the surrounding finished surface. Once installed and plastered, the aluminium body and mounting wings are concealed, leaving only the milky diffuser and illuminated opening visible. This produces a clean, modern and trimless architectural lighting effect. Each profile is supplied in a 2 metre length with a removable milky diffuser and end caps. The internal channel measures approximately 20.7mm wide, making it suitable for a broad range of compatible LED strip lights. A plaster-in LED profile is designed to become part of the finished wall or ceiling rather than remaining visibly surface-mounted. The perforated wings are fixed to the plasterboard or prepared surface and then covered with suitable jointing compound or plaster. After finishing and decoration, the aluminium wings are concealed and the visible result is a crisp, continuous line of light. The aluminium channel also supports the LED tape and helps transfer heat away from the strip. Prepare the required opening or installation area in the plasterboard wall or ceiling. Cut the aluminium profile and diffuser to the required length using suitable tools. Secure the perforated wings to the plasterboard or supporting structure. Apply suitable jointing compound or plaster across the wings. Allow the surface to dry, then sand and decorate. Clean the internal aluminium channel before installing the LED tape. Connect the LED tape to a compatible driver and controller where required. Test the lighting before completing the installation. Fit the diffuser and end caps after testing. Important: Check all dimensions, LED tape widths and cable routes before cutting or plastering. Protect the internal channel from plaster, dust and decorating materials during installation. FAQs Is the LED strip included? No. This listing is for the aluminium profile, milky diffuser and end caps unless a selected product option specifically states otherwise. Does the profile come in one continuous length? No. Every profile is 2 metres long. For example, the 10M option contains five separate 2M lengths. What width of LED strip will fit? The internal channel is approximately 20.7mm wide. Always check the actual width of the LED tape, solder joints and connectors before ordering. What is the purpose of the perforated wings? The perforated wings provide a fixing and keying surface for jointing compound or plaster. Once covered and decorated, the wings are concealed. Is the profile hidden after installation? The mounting wings and outer aluminium body are concealed. The milky diffuser and illuminated opening remain visible. Can the profile be cut? Yes. The aluminium profile and diffuser can be cut using suitable tools. Remove any sharp edges or swarf before installing the LED tape. Can the diffuser be removed? Yes. The diffuser is removable so the LED tape can be installed, inspected or replaced. Can it be installed after decorating? It is primarily intended to be installed before final plastering and decoration. Retrofitting may require cutting, plastering and repainting. Can it be used outdoors or in wet areas? The profile should not be treated as a waterproof enclosure. Wet-area or outdoor installations require suitably rated LED tape, drivers and electrical equipment. Why is COB LED tape recommended? COB LED tape provides a more continuous-looking line of light than conventional LED tape. Combined with the milky diffuser, it creates a smoother finished effect. What else is required? A complete installation normally requires compatible LED tape, a correctly sized LED driver, suitable cable and connection accessories. RGB tape also requires a compatible RGB controller.
