This exceptional pair of antique Real Photo Postcards provides a remarkable look at German medical and service member mobilization during World War I. The reverse of the service member's card contains a poignant, beautifully penned message written in old German cursive (Kurrentschrift): "Dear brother-in-law, What is going on with you, are you still alive? I hear absolutely nothing from you. Hopefully you are still healthy. Well, with luck and health, goodbye until we meet again. Your brother-in-law, August."
