Superb, saline Grillo from vines grown right next to the Marsala salt pans. A beautiful golden colour in the glass from a brief time spend with the skins, this full and structured wine translates its coastal Mediterranean location perfectly. Ocean surf comes through immediately in the aromatics, along with preserved lemon, pithy grapefruit and orange blossom. With great ripeness and concentration, fruits on the palate have an oily, herbal quality. Gently honeyed and with just a touch of texture from that short maceration, there is a tropical lilt of passion fruit and its accompanying bright beam of acid. Harvested in the last week of August, bunches were de-stemmed, crushed and left on the skins for 48hrs before being transferred to steel tanks for 10 months and then bottled with no additions.
