We've reimagined the construction of a seatbelt strap by redeveloping it from the ground up using a unique weaving structure. The strap features a seamless continuous loop, which not only enhances durability by doubling the tensile strength compared to a single ply nylon, but also reducing the likelihood of fraying near the edges. This weaving pattern creates a smooth and soft texture to the touch. For a subtle nod to our origin, near the buckle features alternating red and white stitching, a detail reminiscent of the Canadian flag, only fully visible when the strap is taken off the wrist. To elevate the stainless steel buckle, we first brushed the top surface and polished its edges to perfection. Instead of settling with PVD coating, which has a typical hardness range of 2,000 to 3,000 Vickers; we opted for a superior alternative by employing a light grey Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating, which achieves an exceptional hardness exceeding 8,000 Vickers. The result is a sleek carbon-like finish with hypoallergenic properties, superior hardness, durability, and protection.
