Late 19th Century French Louis XIII Dining Chairs in Blue Striped Jacquard, Set of 12

A substantial set of twelve late 19th century French Louis XIII dining chairs sourced in Provence, France. The chairs feature classic provincial Louis XIII forms with rectangular backs, hand-turned legs and stretchers, and richly patinated oak frames showcasing the warmth and character associated with French country furniture of the period. The set has been fully restored and newly upholstered in-house in a heavy cream jacquard fabric with woven blue striping. The upholstery was entirely redesigned to create a more tailored architectural profile, featuring inset upholstered back panels framed with a single self-piping detail, wrapped upholstered borders, carefully mitered corners, and clean hand-finished detailing throughout. The seats were fully rebuilt with new webbing and padding for everyday comfort and support, while the striped jacquard upholstery was carefully aligned across each chair to emphasize the strong geometric silhouette of the design. The contrast between the textured woven upholstery and the aged oak frames creates a balanced composition that feels both timeless and updated, allowing the chairs to work equally well in traditional, transitional, or more contemporary interiors. The oak frames have been structurally restored, cleaned, and hand waxed while preserving the natural patina and wear accumulated over time.
