Vörðr, Old Norse for "guardian, warden, watchman." Vörðr is a guardian piece, Norse art built around a lynx standing against an encroaching threat. Isar Oakmund starts with a professionally shot photograph of the animal in the wild, then draws a coiling wyrm onto the image, alongside his own sigils and bindrunes. The wyrm stands for the kind of trouble that creeps in rather than strikes outright, set into the same frame as the lynx rather than as a separate motif. The bindrunes and sigils carry the actual warding work: protection, good health, and a guard against hardship, worked straight into the piece alongside the animal carrying it. Printed on canvas at 40 x 60cm, gallery wrapped and ready to hang straight out of the box. Keep it close to the door it's meant to guard. Features Limited run Professionally photographed lynx in the wild as the base image Wyrm design hand-drawn onto the photograph by Isar Oakmund, symbolising an encroaching threat Separate bindrunes and sigils for protection, good health and warding off hardship Archival canvas print, 40 x 60cm, gallery wrapped and ready to hang
