Pair of large chapel candlesticks

This pair of large, heavy chapel candlesticks are slightly unusual because rather than being cast from brass which was traditional, they have a silver coloured finish. They aren't as old as they look (but do have some age) - standing on lion-paw feet on a tripod base which features lions faces, these are decorative, well proportioned and nicely patinated. Another unusual feature is that the pricket on the top unscrews which is a massive bonus - anyone who has tried to jam a pillar candle on a pricket will know exactly what we mean!! A pillar candle sits comfortably and safely in the recess at the top, the pricket can be re-attached for display. Price is for the pair. H - 62.5cm; W - 18cm; D - 18cm
