Original Cyanotype on Paper 15 x 22"

A double exposure of two Palmetto fan leaves fills the entire composition, their sharp fronds crossing and layering to create a stunning geometric pattern of intersecting lines. The repeated exposure creates a beautiful striped effect across each frond where the two layers overlap. Soft arc-shaped brushstrokes sweep across the lower right, adding a gentle contrast to the bold graphic forms. The tones shift between deep midnight navy and warm sandy gold and soft powder blue, giving this piece a particularly striking and unique palette compared to others in the collection. Created using the cyanotype process, two chemicals are hand mixed and applied to watercolor paper, real botanicals are placed on top and exposed to natural sunlight, then washed by hand to reveal the image. Each piece is completely one-of-a-kind original artwork.
