Kishore Series

The story of Dr. Punyamurtula Kishore, arguably the twenty-first century's greatest pioneer in the treatment of substance addiction, whose Massachusetts Model program far out-performed the existing treatment paradigms at vastly lower costs-until his clinics, is recorded in our 18 part series. Massachusetts destroyed his reputation in the fall of 2011 by incarcerating Dr. Kishore and withholding Medicaid payments to his fifty-two treatment centers, causing their complete collapse. While governments and pharmaceutical companies continued to promote methadone and Suboxone® (substitute narcotics labeled as “medical treatment”), the Massachusetts Model developed by Dr. Kishore rejected all such “hair of the dog, one size fits all” solutions to the complexity of drug and alcohol addiction. After a year of the conventional treatments, only 1% to 5% of patients did not relapsed, while 37% to 60% of Dr. Kishore’s patients did not relapsed after the same period of time.
