Antique Victorian Small Silver Bon Bon Dish
This is a beautiful small Antique Sterling Silver Bon Bon Dish or Bowl, perfect for serving a few sweets or nuts in. It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present. The bowl is made of shiny hallmarked Sterling Silver. It has beautifully designed ornate pierced bowl sides with and a solid Sterling Silver base in the centre. The pretty design features a bow at the top and bottom of the dish. It stands on three ball feet and is heart shaped. It was made by S Blanckensee and Son Ltd and it was Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1895. The Hallmarks and maker’s mark are hidden in the pattern on the underside. There’s a little tarnish on the underside and it looks like it had a gold washed base that has mostly faded. There’s one small dent in the base and you can see where the ball feet are from the inside of the bowl. It weighs 18.5g. It measures approximately 8cm by 9cm (3 inches by 3 1/2 inches). The depth is approx 2.5cm (1 inch).
