Speciality Bamboo, Relatively rare in the UK. Thought to be from one of the most northerly regions of China. Fargesia Demissa 'Gerry', commonly known as Chinese fountain bamboo, is a stunning cold-hardy clump-forming variety perfect for Scottish gardens. This non-invasive bamboo features elegant upright culms that mature from soft pastel blue to deep purple or near-black, adorned with striking silver-white bands from persistent sheaths. Growing to 2–4 metres, it's ideal for smaller spaces, containers, or creating natural privacy screens without the need for rhizome barriers. Its open, upright habit makes it a sophisticated choice for contemporary and traditional landscapes alike. Prefers shade. Strong sunlight may damage leaves.
