Begonia filiformis 'Irmsch'
Begonia filiformis 'Irmsch' is a rare and dainty species begonia with fine, fern-like foliage that gives it a soft, delicate presence quite unlike the broad-leaved begonias. A wonderful collector's plant for terrariums and humid cabinets, it brings intricate texture to any planted display. Origins Begonia filiformis is native to the limestone karst regions of southern China (Guangxi) and northern Vietnam, where it grows on shaded, humid limestone faces. It belongs to Begonia section Coelocentrum and was first described by Irmscher in 1939. Soil and Substrate Our Simply Houseplant Potting Mix provides a peat-free, free-draining blend that keeps these moisture-loving roots consistently damp without sitting wet.
