With the subtitle, 'variations on a note', Welsh composer Gareth Glyn's The Sounding Bell was composed in 1980, and was joint winner of the Aberystwyth Festival's Composers' Competition the following year. It was written in memory of Eric Morris, a fellow musician and friend, and based throughout on a single tolling D. There are seven variations which play without a break. From the album 'All The Hours We Saw, and other works' c. 13 minutes ____ Gyda'r is-deitl, 'amrywiadau ar nodyn', cyfansoddwyd Caniad y Gloch gan Gareth Glyn ym 1980, a roedd yn gyd-enillydd Cystadleuaeth Cyfansoddwyr Gŵyl Gerdd Aberystwyth y flwyddyn ganlynol. Ysgrifennwyd er cof am y cerddor a chyfaill Eric Morris, ac mae'n seiliedig drwyddo ar un nodyn - D - sy'n awgrymog o gnul cloch. Mae saith amrywiad, hed doriad rhyngddyn nhw.
