This antique Indian silver (low grade, probably .800) circular brooch features a repoussé dancing Hindu deity, likely Nataraja (dancing Shiva) or a multi-armed goddess, within a pierced foliate surround, bordered by twisted wire and applied bead decoration. These types of brooches were commonly made for the Anglo-Indian export and tourist trade during the British colonial period.
