Monarch’s Course Gleneagles

This painting is titled the Monarch’s Course, Gleneagles. The course was designed by renowned golfer Jack Nicklaus, and was renamed The PGA Centenary Course in 2001. Fresh, lively and thoughtfully composed, this small gouache study is a must for any golfer who appreciates fine painting, golf course design and the beauty of a Scottish landscape. Your eye is initially drawn toward the group of coniferous trees left of centre, then moves to the distant hills to the foreground shadow where two golfers are making their way to the green which is surrounded by ominous bunkers.
