Elegoo Mercury XS Bundle: The Wash and Cure Station That Completes Your Resin Printing Workflow The Elegoo Mercury XS Bundle is a 2-in-1 post-processing unit that washes and cures parts made with photopolymer resin. This isn't a printer — it's the machine that handles the two essential steps after printing: removing uncured liquid resin and fully hardening your print using ultraviolet light. When you pull a model off a resin 3D printer, it's coated in uncured resin — sticky, toxic, and fragile. Washing removes that residue, and UV curing delivers the final hardness, mechanical strength, and dimensional stability. Without this process, prints remain soft, light-sensitive, and tacky to the touch. The Mercury XS automates both stages so you get a professional finish cleanly, quickly, and consistently. How It Works: Washing and Curing in One Machine The Mercury XS Bundle integrates two independent stations that work in tandem: Wash Station: features a sealed 7-liter high-capacity tank (minimum recommended fill: 2.5 L), designed for large models and batch washing multiple parts at once. A motor generates an agitation flow that strips uncured resin from the entire surface — including hard-to-reach areas. You can wash directly on the build plate or use the basket for already-removed parts. It works with isopropyl alcohol for standard resins, or plain water if you're using water-washable resins. Cure Station: uses two L-shaped UV light bars with 14 UV LEDs each, plus 4 additional LEDs beneath the rotating platform. The wavelength is 405 nm — the optimal frequency for curing 3D printing resins. A Fresnel lens distributes light evenly, and the rotating aluminum platform ensures uniform 360° exposure from every angle. The timer is adjustable from 0 to 30 minutes. The bundle also includes a handheld UV lamp (405 nm) for spot-curing specific areas, oversized parts that don't fit inside the chamber, or any sections that need targeted reinforcement. Build Volume and Compatibility The Mercury XS stands out for its generous working volume, making it a natural fit for mid-size and large-format printers: Maximum wash volume: 180 × 121 × 153 mm with the build plate attached, or up to 201 × 124 × 255 mm without it. Maximum cure volume: Φ200 × 260 mm (diameter × height). It's compatible with most LCD/MSLA/DLP/SLA printers on the market with comparable build volumes, including Elegoo's Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter lineups as well as equivalent models from other brands. If your printer uses protective consumables, be sure to also check your FEP, nFEP, and ACF films and screen protectors to keep it running at its best.Key Features 2-in-1 unit: washing and curing in a single station. 7 L tank for large prints and batch washing. 360° curing with dual L-shaped LED bars, bottom LEDs, and a rotating turntable. 405 nm UV light optimized for all types of 3D printing resins. Fresh off the printer, resin parts are coated in uncured liquid resin that is tacky and toxic. Washing removes that excess resin, and UV curing then fully polymerizes it — giving the part its final hardness, strength, and dimensional stability. Skip either step and you're left with a soft, brittle print with a greasy surface. What liquid should I use to wash resin prints? For standard resins, isopropyl alcohol (IPA) is the go-to choice — it effectively dissolves uncured resin residue. If you're using water-washable resin, plain tap water is all you need. Check out our alcohol and post-processing supplies section for everything you need. How long should you cure a print? It depends on the size, thickness, and resin type. As a general guide, small parts and miniatures typically need 2–5 minutes, while larger prints or thick sections may require longer. Avoid over-curing, as excessive UV exposure can make the resin brittle or cause yellowing. Why is 405 nm the right wavelength? The vast majority of 3D printing resins are formulated to cure under 405 nm UV light — the same wavelength used by LCD resin printer screens. A 405 nm curing station ensures the resin hardens fully and evenly every time. Do I need to dry my print before curing it? Yes. After washing, remove any excess liquid and let the print dry completely — either with compressed air or by leaving it out to air dry — before placing it in the curing station. Curing a wet print with alcohol or water on the surface can cause blemishes, matte spots, or sticky residue. Can I cure prints larger than the curing chamber? For models that exceed the chamber volume, you can use the included handheld UV lamp to cure specific areas or large-format prints in sections. You can also rotate the part manually to ensure full UV exposure on all sides.
