It takes about 30–45 minutes and requires basic tools (radio removal keys or a flat trim tool). Step 1 — Pull out the factory radio Use BMW radio removal keys (or a flat trim tool) to slide the radio out of the dashboard. Disconnect the existing plugs at the back and set the radio aside on a flat surface. Step 2 — Connect the power wires Locate the main wiring connector behind the radio. Connect the adapter's red wire to pin 5 (ACC 12V+, pink wire) — this ensures the adapter powers on with the ignition and never drains your battery. Connect the black wire to pin 15 (GND, brown wire).
