It's our classic Third Island Gin - locally foraged Manuka, Rimu, and Horopito showered in pure Stewart Island rainwater - now of seafaring stature.In the 18th Century, the Royal Navy began the practice of storing gin rations below deck alongside gunpowder.As such it was crucial that, should a barrel burst, the wet gunpowder would still ignite in the heat of battle.Anything under 57.15% - or "gunpowder proof" - was barred from ships, while any gin stronger was welcomed aboard.And with that, Navy Strength Gin was born.
