Approximate weight per cubic yard (loose): 2600 lbs (1.3 tons). Compaction may require an additional 20% - 30% depending on the level of compaction. Ensure a minimum depth of 1" when placing this product. Common Installation Practices: Our coarse sand is carefully screened to a size of 3/16" minus down to fines. Typically, a 1" layer is recommended when applying it on top of the road base, while a 2" layer is ideal when placing it over gravel for paver patios.
