Group Contemporary Mosaic Course – 3 days Group course at the mosaic school In Tessere – Narni (TR), Italy Course description Teacher: Livio Savioli – artist specialising in the methods of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli in Spilimbergo The course introduces contemporary mosaic according to the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli in Spilimbergo, bringing together Italy’s great craft tradition and contemporary artistic research. Marble, Venetian smalti and other stone materials become expressive tools for interpreting form, light and matter with creative freedom. The programme focuses on colour, form and composition to create surfaces with depth, complex textures and a strong sculptural effect. The objective is to make colour the true protagonist and the main means of conveying sensations. Places are limited to 10 participants. Study of colour, form and composition; selection of materials and development of the personal project. Day 2 Cutting and preparation of marble and smalti; start of mosaic laying. Study of andamento, textures, colour contrasts and volume. Day 3 Continuation and completion of the artwork; technical corrections, finishing and group review of the projects. Presentation of the certificate of attendance and completed artwork. Materials included Basic mosaic tool kit, included as a gift and kept by the participant Printed manual and handouts dedicated to the course technique Practice materials Materials and supports required to create the artwork How to enrol You may purchase the full course or reserve your place with a €120 fee, which is non-refundable and valid for 1 year. The reservation fee will be deducted from the total course price. The remaining balance must be paid at the school on the first day of the course.
