Few issues today attract as much public attention as housing. Beyond the political and economic debate, the solution also lies in architecture, understood as a discipline capable of generating innovative, sustainable, and socially responsible solutions. In this context, architectural design becomes an essential tool for building a more livable, efficient, and equitable residential model. In this double issue, ‘AV Monographs’ brings together some twenty collective housing projects that offer a representative overview of contemporary Spanish residential architecture. Selected for their ability to address a common challenge through diverse approaches, the projects span a broad spectrum of programs and management models, ranging from public development and private initiatives to rental housing, coliving, and housing cooperatives.
