Cartier Panthere Double Head Vintage 18K Gold Ring
A vintage Panthère bypass ring in 18K gold — the band coils around the finger and terminates in two sculpted panther heads that pass each other rather than meet. Each head is modeled in the round: brow, muzzle, ears, the almond eyes cut in sharp relief. Small, but the anatomy is all there. The band is the other half of the story. Fine parallel ribbing wraps the whole shank like wound wire, and the three golds — yellow, white, and rose — alternate through the coils in bands. It catches light differently as the hand turns, which a plain polished shank never does. Cartier has been building the panther since Jeanne Toussaint took over jewelry in the 1930s, and the bypass ring is one of the oldest formats in the line. This one is the pared-back version: no diamond pavé, no onyx spots, no emerald eyes. Just gold and modeling. Excellent condition, all three golds distinct and bright, ribbing crisp with no flattening.
