What actually differs about The Firebox is where it fits. This is not a wall-mount modern panel like the Crystal Panel line. This is an insert. It drops into the rectangular opening you already have — the masonry fireplace surround that has sat sealed and empty since 2003, the TV console with the factory-made fireplace cutout you never bought the insert for, the built-in cabinet with a fireplace-shaped hole your carpenter left for you. Or it sits freestanding on a flat hearth stone with nothing holding it down but its own 13.5 lbs. No wall-mount bracket. No drywall to cut. No contractor. What Actually Differs 18 inches wide, 17.5 inches tall, 5 inches deep. Sized to drop into the standard-sized rectangular openings that already exist in a lot of homes: original 1950s-1980s masonry fireplace surrounds, factory-cut TV console cutouts, and modular cabinet openings. Measure your existing opening. If it's at least 19" wide, 17.5" tall, and 5" deep, this fits. Mounting flanges on the corners let you screw it into a wooden surround if you want it locked in — otherwise gravity holds it in place. Realistic amber log-flame effect. There is no wall-mount bracket in the box. If you have a bare wall and want a modern flat panel hanging on it, this is not the right product — look at The Crystal Panel line instead. This is an insert designed to drop into an existing rectangular opening. It is not warmer than a competitor's 1500W insert. Same class of heater core. If you need to warm a larger room, this doesn't do that — a single 1400W unit warms a well-insulated 300–400 sq ft room, no more. For a bigger room you need central heat or a second unit. It is not smart-home compatible. No app. No WiFi. No Alexa integration. No IFTTT triggers. Remote and top-panel touch buttons only. If you want to say "Alexa, turn on the fireplace," this doesn't do that — look at The Crystal Panel line. It is not a real fire. The molded log bed and amber flame effect look convincing at normal viewing distance in evening light, but it is an LED-lit visual effect. No wood, no smoke, no crackling, no chimney draw. It should not be left running unattended in heat mode. The overheat shutoff and 0–6 hour timer exist because unattended space-heater use is how house fires happen. Use the timer. Never leave heat mode on when you leave the house or go to sleep. Flame-only mode (no heat, ~12W draw) is safe to leave overnight. It draws roughly 12A at 1400W. Plug directly into a wall outlet on its own circuit, not a power strip or extension cord. If the outlet is on a shared circuit with a microwave or window AC, you'll trip the breaker. It does not fit every opening. Measure yours: 19" wide × 17.5" tall × 5" deep minimum. A too-small opening will not accommodate this. Check before ordering.
