Flood & Swiftwater Rescue Course – Basic

This is delivered either as a blended format or full in-person course. The price includes all classroom, pool, and swift water sessions as well as the certification PDF after successful completion of the course. The course will be delivered by one of WASH International’s Authorized Training Centers (ATCs) or Authorized Instructors in your geographic area. Topics include: PPE; risk management & hazard awareness & mitigation; familiarity with river flow (or other swift water)and swimming in this environment; prioritizing safety& rescues; extrication of trapped legs & feet; wading into or crossing in shallow water; use of throw bag; in-water victim contact and/or swim rescues; rescues and extrication with limited resources & gear; knots; vessel pins & flips; EAP’s; vector pulls; effective communications Please feel free to call us with questions and/or a request for additional information: 1-800-484-0419. Participants who successfully complete the Swift Water Rescue Basic Course receive a certificate from the World Academy of Safety & Health (WASH) International and Basic Life Support (BLS)/Basic First Aid from HSI (formerly known as American Safety & Health Institute or ASHI), each valid for one (1) year.
