This program is co-sponsored by Tibet House US and Nalanda Institute for Contemplative Science. Dreams have fascinated every culture since the dawn of human self-awareness, from Indigenous Australians to the Ancient Greeks, from the heirs of Freud and Jung to contemporary dream researchers. While most traditions use dreams to decipher the secrets of the psyche, connect with the spiritual realm or prophecy the future, the Indo-Tibetan Buddhist tradition teaches a powerful yoga of lucid dreaming meant to help transform our unconscious minds and bodies into Buddhahood. Within the embodied contemplative science and practice of the Unexcelled Yoga Tantras, dreams are used as a vehicle for transforming our ordinary trauma body into an extraordinary magic body that enables us to live a life of fully awakened altruism. In this daylong retreat, one of the first women doctors of Tibetan philosophy and psychology, Ani Choyang, unpacks the art and science of dream yoga based on the traditional teaching of the Six Yogas of Naropa as well as her own work with leading dream researchers. Join Ani-la to explore this ancient practice which begins with lucid awareness in sleep and offers an opportunity to transform our dream life into a path of deep meditative transformation and awakening. PRESENTER BIO Ani Choyang was born in Tibet and escaped to India at age 18. She became a nun in 2003 under the guidance of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
