Crafted from 1060 high carbon steel, the blade is paired with restrained black fittings, an iron tsuba, a cord-wrapped handle, and a solid wood scabbard finished in high-gloss black lacquer. 1060 High Carbon Steel Blade The blade is made from 1060 high carbon steel and finished with a decorative cosmetic polish that emphasizes its double-edged profile and contrasting blade pattern. The blade has no bo-hi, preserving a clean and substantial appearance from the habaki to the tip. Heat Treated and Tempered Heat treatment is carried out using a muffle furnace followed by controlled tempering to stabilize the steel after hardening. The blade is constructed with an integrated tang extending through the handle for a solid traditional mounting structure. Traditional-Inspired Mounting Details The sword is fitted with an iron tsuba, copper seppa, a custom-molded copper habaki, bamboo mekugi, and a cotton cord-wrapped handle. High-Gloss Solid Wood Scabbard The matching saya is made from solid wood and finished with a smooth piano-style black lacquer.
