Born into a long-established winemaking family in the village, Simon Colin gained experience at renowned wineries in France and abroad before founding his own domaine in 2020. He took over a selection of prime family vineyard holdings around Chassagne-Montrachet and follows a low-intervention approach to highlight each site's terroir. La Maltroie is a historic Premier Cru located in the heart of Chassagne-Montrachet. Dominated by clay and limestone soils with excellent drainage and sun exposure, the vineyard produces wines with a firm structure, impressive depth, and strong ageing potential.
