Silver Baby Musgrave Lock

When Marla discovered two weird little 17th-century objects with discs that spin in opposite directions to release a side piece — with “Musgrave” engraved on them — she was immediately obsessed with figuring out whether the mechanism could become jewelry. It could. With a few modifications, this very old, very sophisticated mechanism became a Lock. We lovingly called it the Musgrave. The silver Baby Musgrave Lock has a beautiful milgrain finish on the closure, reminiscent of the closure on our Micro Lock. There is something especially satisfying about taking a mechanism this intricate and historically inspired and rendering it in silver, at this scale. We love it as a bracelet. We love it as a necklace. It is a natural-born charm holder. To open/close - Turn top dial to divet, arm will open, when the dial is released, it will go back to closed and locked position.
