A high-performance, longer-lasting alternative to silica sand for pool and water filtration. Clearer water – angular to sub-angular particles trap finer particles than an equivalent silica sand grade, reducing turbidity. Resists bio-fouling – the smooth particle surface leaves no cracks for bacteria to colonise, meaning less remedial action and fewer chemicals. Less backwashing – reduced filter clogging means backwashing is needed less often. Removes iron & manganese – a weak negative surface charge holds fine particles and positively charged iron and manganese ions, which are easily released on backwash. Long lifespan – does not degrade like sand, and may not need replacing even when your filter is refurbished. Grade: 0.64 – 1.2 mm
