Marinella

“Marinella is my fascinating neighbour.” In the intimacy of an apartment, Anie Maki delicately and gradually recounts her encounter with Marinella, the woman from whom she rents a home in Bologna. Through small gestures, objects and “traces” left on the staircase, a friendship begins to develop, allowing the photographer to enter ever more deeply into Marinella’s private world. The images and details gathered reveal a world of memories, solitude and affection, where objects become testimonies to lives once lived. The photographs thus unfold as an intimate and deeply human narrative, bridging different generations and reflecting on the meaning of home, memory and human connection.
