He comes from a coffee-growing family and learned the craft from his parents, and he has continued building that life alongside his wife, Carmen Motta. Specialty coffee has opened new doors for Marino over the years, giving him reason to keep improving the farm, adopt better practices, and aim for coffee that can be recognised and appreciated well beyond his own community. Today he manages Finca Bellavista–Los Pinos, with his family and neighbours pitching in during harvest. Marino is proud of the fertile soils and favourable climate he has to work with, and just as proud of the family effort behind every lot. Looking ahead, he wants to keep refining his varieties while producing coffee that continues to support his family and his community.
