Looking For Evergreens! (Sunshine, Soft & Studio Pop 1966-1971)

Looking For Evergreens! celebrates the sunshine, soft and studio pop of 1966–1971, an era of memorable melodies, intricate vocal harmonies and imaginative arrangements. Thirty-two selections bring together forgotten singles, obscure B-sides, rare recordings and previously unissued material.Highlights include The Dawnbreakers, featuring future soft-rock stars Seals & Crofts, harmony-rich recordings from The Sierras and The Chosen Few’s “Pink Clouds And Lemonade”. Mikie Harris contributes “Love Is All I Need”, while Quartet, featuring Terry Britten, Kevin Peek, Trevor Spencer and Alan Tarney, offer the McCartney-inspired ballad “Now”.Further connections include Roger Nichols’ arrangement for Tanya Falan’s “I Feel It” and the vocals of future Archies singer Ron Dante on Abrahamm And Strauss. The Devils Brigade’s previously unissued “Can’t Help But Wonder” is among the collection’s elusive discoveries. The CD includes a twenty-four-page full-colour booklet with rare photographs, original record-label scans and detailed annotations covering all thirty-two tracks.Tracklist The Fuller Brothers - Down The Sierras - Brandi Brim - There Must Be The Val-Rays - It Hurts Doesn’t It Girl The Dawnbreakers - Hear Me Now The Harts - Little Girl (I'm So In Love With You) The Chosen Few - Pink Clouds And Lemonade Ken Street - Here Today And Gone Tomorrow David Kershenbaum - Forbidden Mikie Harris - Love Is All I Need David & The Giants - A Letter To Josephine Les Ledo - Marlborough Road The Express - Hurry Love Quartet - Now The Sierras - You Cannot Untell A Lie (the) Safe As Milk - We Know That Everybody Knows The Byzantine Empire - Girl In The Courtyard Tommy Turner and The 13th Hour Glass - I Wish I Knew How To Make You Happy Russ Alquist - Fly Free As A Bird The New Dawn - Sometimes In The Morning The Eddysons - The Evening Of Our Date Tanya Falan - I Feel It Featherbed - Amy The Ballistics - Please Come Home The Devils Brigade - Can’t Help But Wonder Abrahamm And Strauss - Lay A Little Love On Me Zayne Adams - Can’t You See Me Brim - She’s No Good For You The Fuller Brothers - Big Church Wedding The Val-Rays - I’m Walkin’ Proud The Harts - Cry No More For You The Dawnbreakers - Looking For Evergreen
