Innocent Armor Bulletproof Everyday Backpack NIJ Level IIIA Ballistic Backpack

The Innocent Armor Bulletproof Everyday Backpack is a 28-liter NIJ Level IIIA ballistic backpack built for commuters, students, and everyday carriers who want discreet back protection without a tactical silhouette. The included ShieldTec® panel, manufactured in the USA, stops 9mm, .40, .45 ACP, and .44 Magnum threats and has been independently tested in U.S. NIJ-accredited ballistic labs across 35+ tests. A built-in laptop compartment, USB charging port, and water-resistant exterior make this a functional daily bag first — with serious ballistic credentials underneath. Available in Black, Blue, and Grey. Who this is for Commuters and urban professionals who want ballistic back coverage that reads as a standard work or travel bag in any setting. Students carrying a laptop and school supplies who need a bag that fits campus life without drawing attention. Everyday carriers already managing a full daily load who want protection integrated into gear they were going to carry anyway. Ballistic panel The ShieldTec® panel rates at NIJ Level IIIA, independently tested at U.S. NIJ-accredited laboratories against 35+ ballistic trials. It covers the most common handgun threat spectrum: 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, and .44 Magnum. The panel does not provide rifle-round protection — NIJ Level IIIA is a handgun-rated designation. It rides in a dedicated internal armor sleeve sized to hold it flush against the back panel of the bag. Removability and conversion The ShieldTec® panel slides out of the internal sleeve for cleaning, air travel, or transfer to another compatible bag. Soft armor is TSA-approved and can travel in carry-on or checked luggage without issue. Because the panel is removable, the bag shell can be spot-cleaned independently per the care instructions below. Capacity and organization The Everyday Backpack holds 28 liters (12" x 6" x 18") with a dedicated 15" laptop compartment and internal pockets for everyday organization. A built-in USB charging port connects to your power bank (sold separately) so devices charge while you move. A trolley sleeve lets the bag attach over rolling luggage handles for travel days. Construction The exterior uses water-resistant materials with reinforced stitching throughout. Padded, ergonomic shoulder straps and a ventilated airflow back panel distribute load evenly for all-day carry comfort. The low-profile, non-tactical design blends into commuter, school, and office environments without any visible ballistic indicators. It cannot be shipped to New York or Connecticut due to state body armor restrictions. Soft body armor is subject to U.S. export regulations. Under 18 U.S.C. § 931, anyone with a federal felony conviction for a crime of violence is prohibited from purchasing or possessing body armor. What NIJ level is the ballistic panel? NIJ Level IIIA. The ShieldTec® panel has been independently tested at U.S. NIJ-accredited ballistic labs and stops 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, and .44 Magnum threats. It is a handgun-rated panel and does not protect against rifle-caliber rounds. Is the panel removable? Yes. The ShieldTec® panel slides in and out of a dedicated internal sleeve. Remove it before cleaning the bag shell, for air travel security screening, or to transfer it to another compatible bag. Soft armor is TSA-approved for both carry-on and checked luggage. Will this panel stop rifle rounds? No. NIJ Level IIIA covers handgun threats up to .44 Magnum. Rifle calibers such as 5.56x45 and 7.62x39 require a hard armor plate rated at Level III or Level IV, which cannot be integrated into a soft panel of this type. What is the Incident Replacement Guarantee? If the ShieldTec® armor stops a verified defensive incident, the panel is replaced at no cost. A valid police report is required to make the claim. Contact us for details on initiating a replacement under this guarantee. How do I clean and maintain the backpack? Remove the ballistic panel before cleaning. Spot clean the bag shell with mild soap and air dry only. Do not bleach or machine wash. The panel itself should not be laundered; the 8-year warranty covers the panel under normal use conditions.
