GEN 2 - HIGH ANGLE FRONT DRIVESHAFT - CAYENNE (2011-2018)

Our Gen 2 high-angle front driveshaft is designed specifically for Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg models equipped with a subframe drop. This upgraded front driveshaft addresses the increased operating angle created by subframe drops and provides a more permanent solution for driveline vibration and premature front driveshaft wear. Owners of Gen 2 Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg models may experience slight driveline vibration in the cabin at highway speeds or front driveshaft leakage, particularly on higher-mileage vehicles or vehicles modified with a subframe drop. For the Gen 2 platform, Porsche and Volkswagen changed the factory front driveshaft design from the plunging ball-style CV joint used on Gen 1 vehicles to a fixed ball-style CV joint with more limited articulation. While we have experienced zero front driveshaft failures throughout six years of building these vehicles, a small number of owners have reported driveline vibration or leakage. We initially developed transmission drop spacers as a way to improve the front driveshaft operating angle on subframe-dropped vehicles. Through continued R&D and testing, we developed a high-angle front driveshaft that replaces the factory assembly with an upgraded CV unit designed to accommodate the increased operating angle created by a subframe drop. The Eurowise high-angle front driveshaft eliminates the need for transmission drop spacers while providing additional CV articulation for modified Gen 2 Cayenne and Touareg applications. By improving the driveshaft operating angle, this design helps address driveline vibration, CV joint stress, leakage, and premature front driveshaft wear associated with increased suspension and subframe angles.
