Pisano - RPF Chardonnay - 2020

RPF, for Reserva Personal de la Familia, brings together the finest selections of the Pisano family, whose first vines were planted in 1914 in Progreso, in the department of Canelones, north of Montevideo. This plateau near the Río de la Plata and the Atlantic Ocean enjoys a temperate, sunny climate cooled by sea breezes, on low-acidity clay-limestone soils that host grassed vineyards.Made from Chardonnay grown on these clay-limestone soils, this wine is aged in French oak barrels for four to six months. This measured ageing brings depth and a velvety texture, while respecting the freshness and finesse of the fruit, for a white built on balance rather than power.This wine reveals notes of pineapple, mango, yellow peach, candied lemon, white flowers, hazelnut, oak, chocolate and smoke. The fine, fresh nose blends exotic fruit with nuances from the ageing. The palate is velvety, fresh and balanced, carried by very good acidity that leads to an elegant finish.
