Boys’ Day Banner

A large banner of the kind flown outdoors for Boys’ Day (May 5) to wish strength and good fortune on a family’s sons. A family crest sits at the top, above two samurai hand painted in bright mineral colors. The mounted commander wears a horned helmet and full armor; a younger warrior stands below with a spear. A red battle standard and gold baton rise against bands of blue cloud. The artist’s signature and red seal appear at the lower edge. In excellent condition.
