This antique Duro No. 24 galvanized wringer bucket is an exceptional survivor from Canada's early household era. Manufactured by Duro Metalwares Limited of Hamilton, Canada, this bucket retains much of its original paper label and even still bears its original charcoal pencil price marking of $5.55, a reminder that this was once considered a premium household item. Standing approximately 16 inches tall with the handle raised, this bucket appears to have seen very little actual use. The galvanized finish remains remarkably well preserved, and its overall condition suggests it was stored carefully rather than put through years of household service. Finding an example with this level of originality, including the surviving label and price marking, is becoming increasingly difficult. Whether displayed in a vintage general store, country kitchen, farmhouse, antique shop, or museum-style collection, this piece captures the charm and craftsmanship of a bygone era. It would also make an outstanding planter, porch display, movie prop, or photography piece. Collectors of Canadian advertising, galvanized ware, farmhouse antiques, and primitive household items will appreciate the originality and condition of this example. Quite simply, you're unlikely to find a nicer one.
