Printmaking: Linocut Landscape (June 11, 18, 25 @ 7:00 PM)

Level: Beginner - Intermediate Sessions: Three Ages: 16+ Class size: 4 students Dates: Thursday — June 11, 18, & 25 from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM *We occasionally run 15 minutes overtime. This multi-part workshop — suitable for beginners — introduces basic design principles for successful block print design. We will discuss carving techniques to achieve a variety of textures. Participants will design a landscape using multiple printing blocks to create a three colour print (white plus two ink colours). Participants will have the opportunity to print four copies of their original design. All tools and materials supplied for use during the workshop. Class 1 (June 11): Designing, beginning to carve Class 2 (June 18): First printed layer, additional carving Class 3 (June 25): Final carving, second printed layer What you get: 4.5+ hours of hands-on, guided instruction Use of tools during class and tools to borrow if your piece requires additional work at home between classes An edition of up to 4 copies of your finished design All paper, ink, and carving blocks provided Time to express your creativity in a laid-back, supportive, and social environment Workshops are held in-person in Kemptville, Ontario, Canada.
