This authentic Medium-Large djembe is hand-carved in Ghana from a single piece of solid hardwood and fitted with a natural West African goat-skin head. The 8.5" playing head and 13.5" body give adult hands more room and a fuller bass, clear open tone and crisp slap, while staying manageable at roughly 2-4 lb for home practice, lessons, meditation, workshops and drum circles. Each drum is rope-tuned and ready to play. Handmade variations in carving, finish, wood grain and hide texture make every piece unique. A faint natural goat-skin scent may be present at first and fades with airing.
