TaylorMade Qi4D Hybrid
The TaylorMade Qi4D Rescue — “Rescue” is the traditional TaylorMade name for what the industry calls a hybrid — is the utility club that bridges your long irons and fairway woods. Three heads make up the Qi4D Rescue line: the Qi4D Rescue (the standard, iron-like head), the Qi4D Max Rescue (larger, forgiveness-biased), and the Qi4D Max Lite Rescue (ultralight). Three Heads, One Build Standard Qi4D Rescue — The Iron-Replacement Hybrid The standard Qi4D Rescue is built as an iron-replacement tool. Multimaterial construction pairing 450 stainless steel with an ultralight carbon crown produces high launch, iron-like flight, and versatile performance from most lies. An 8g TAS (Trajectory Adjustment System) weight lets us tune spin, flight, and swing weight; a 3° loft sleeve adjusts loft, lie, and face angle. For players who already hit their long irons well and want a utility that plays like a stronger-profile iron rather than a big forgiving hybrid, this is the head. Qi4D Max Rescue — Forgiveness The Qi4D Max Rescue has a larger footprint and a weight setup biased more toward forgiveness. Higher MOI, straighter ball flight, and easier launch from a wider range of lies. For players who have struggled with classic hybrids or long irons, this is the head that removes the most variance from off-centre strikes. Qi4D Max Lite Rescue — Ultralight The Qi4D Max Lite Rescue shares the Max footprint but is built ultralight — up to 18g lighter than the Max Rescue — with the line’s lightest head, shaft, and grip. A 4g TAS weight sits rearward for added stability and high launch. For players with slower swing speeds who need extra clubhead speed to carry the ball the required distance. Key Technologies Twist Face — corrective face curvature that tightens dispersion on off-centre hits. Speed Pocket (cut-through) — preserves ball speed on strikes low on the face, the most common miss from tight lies and rough. TAS weight — 8g on the standard Rescue, 4g on Max Lite — tunes flight, spin, and swing weight. 3° loft sleeve — fine-tunes loft, lie, and face angle at fitting. Multimaterial construction — 450 stainless steel body plus ultralight carbon crown for low-rearward CG and high MOI. ExactGolf: Expert Consultation and Custom Building A hybrid replaces either a long iron or a fairway wood — which one it replaces depends entirely on the configuration. Loft, lie, length, and shaft flex profile have more impact on how a hybrid sits in your bag than the head itself. Our fitters work with you on gapping, turf interaction, and the right weight class of shaft so the hybrid fills its intended role rather than overlapping with clubs you already own. We build every Qi4D Rescue to your exact specification. Length, swing weight, and grip are calibrated individually. The shafts that work in a hybrid are dedicated hybrid graphite shafts — Fujikura Ventus HB, Fujikura Axiom HB, and Oban Devotion Hybrid among them — or iron graphite shafts such as Fujikura Pro, Vista Pro, KBS TGI, and Aerotech SteelFiber. We do not build hybrids with steel shafts. When you buy the TaylorMade Qi4D Rescue — standard, Max, or Max Lite — through ExactGolf, the head you take home is only half of the decision. The other half is the shaft, length, and lie that make it feel like an extension of the rest of your set.
