Blue heron pendant in solid 14k gold

This blue heron enamel pendant features a blue sapphire and is hand painted with glass enamel. The glass enamel starts as a fine powder and is sifted in layers onto a copper base and fired at high temperatures in a kiln. The lines are then painted with a painting enamel that is also fired in a kiln. The end result is a highly detailed porcelain painting that is not affected by UV light or water! The enamel cabochon has been set in solid 14k gold. The pendant comes on a solid 14k gold, 17 inch/ 43 cm chain. All the jump rings are soldered to ensure longevity.
