No Friends Band – to all my friends – New LP
..chuck a rock through the atmosphere and it's gonna burn...charging ahead while crumbling apart...and down below on earth, sonic booms are heard wrapped in dirt...burning rocks smacking ground, sizzling in the mud puddles of the PNW...it's always easier to take rip things up than to put them together...21st century Puddletown but recalling the noisy origins of punk from the early-mid 1970s from places like Cleveland...includes cool muddy interpretations of "Drifter's Escape" by Bob Dylan, "Unknown Passage" by Dead Moon, and "Street Waves" by Pere Ubu...the latter two perhaps the most telling as maybe these sounds live in the dark voids between the two bands...and distinctively part of the PNW, wrapped up in and moving through that rain-soaked air and mud-puddles of that region. Check it out. -- winch to all my friends by No Friends Band Recorded to 4-track cassette, 1999-2010, Portland, Or.
