The Mafell KSS 300 Cross-Cutting System offers finish carpenters, floor-layers, and cabinet makers a new way to make fast, highly accurate straight and plunge cuts. This tool can be used as a cross-cut saw, plunge-cut saw, shadow gap saw, or portable circular saw with or without the included Flexi-Guide. This lightweight and innovative circular saw is connected to a unique guide track composed of a friction pad on the bottom side and an adjustable "smart" stop for either perfectly square cuts or precise miter cuts up to a 60° angle. The user simply places the guide track up against the leading edge of the stock and pushes the saw through the wood, without needing to guide the saw or follow the line by eye. Since the hard plastic edge of the guide is aligned with the carbide blade, splintering of the top surface of the wood is prevented, even with angle cuts! The KSS 300 enables you to saw with angular precision and only one hand on the machine. Thanks to magnesium die-cast components, the entire system weighs only 6.6 lbs., making it easy and simple to maneuver. The FLIPPKEIL riving knife automatically retracts back into the body of the saw during plunge cuts, and then returns to its safety position as you advance forward with your cut. Once the cut has been executed, the saw effortlessly returns to the starting position on the track via an integrated polyethylene cable. With a 1-1/16" maximum depth capacity at a 45° angle, the KSS 300 is perfect for window, door, rake, and eave trim. For accurate long cuts, attach the saw to the included Flexi-Guide FX140 and run it down the 4.5 ft. long track for a perfectly straight cut. When your project is complete, the Flexi-Guide can be rolled up and stored with the saw and short track in the carrying case.
