There are Chobi carpets that work gently, and then there is this: a deep plum-aubergine field — the colour of jamun, of late dusk, of wine left too long in a dark bottle — across which a lush, expansive botanical vine moves with complete confidence. Amber and saffron blooms, teal leaves, ivory sprays and crimson accents cover the field without crowding it, the scale of the motifs larger and bolder than the typical Chobi, as though the field demanded something that could hold its own against the darkness of the ground. The border works in the same plum, continuing the vine in a slightly more contained register. Hand-knotted by Hazara weavers in Kabul, wool on cotton, 110 knots per square inch. An unusual piece — not the carpet for every room, but unforgettable in the right one. Origin Kabul, Afghanistan Tribe Hazara Material Wool on Cotton Knot Density 110 Kpsi Size 6.2' × 3.11'
