Designed as a complete front-end gain system rather than a simple distortion pedal, the Life Pedal can move from thick overdrive and crushing distortion to harmonically rich octave-fuzz textures, all while remaining remarkably responsive to your playing. Massive Distortion with Three Clipping Voices At the heart of the Life Pedal is the Amplitude distortion circuit, inspired by the classic White Face op-amp distortion design. A three-position clipping switch allows you to tailor the pedal's response to your rig and playing style. Choose between the raw, uncompressed aggression of the OpAmp mode, the smoother and more amp-like response of the Asymmetrical clipping mode, or the familiar crunch of the traditional Symmetrical silicon diode configuration. With enormous available gain and a powerful output section, the Life Pedal is capable of everything from thick overdrive to devastating saturation. Blendable Analog Octave-Up Positioned at the front of the signal path, the analog octave-up circuit can be blended in using the dedicated Octave control, adding harmonic richness, cut, and texture to the distortion. Subtle settings enhance articulation and complexity, while higher settings push the pedal into aggressive octave-fuzz territory reminiscent of classic octave fuzz designs. The octave blend can also be controlled in real time via an expression pedal, allowing for dramatic octave swells and evolving textures during performance. Independent MOSFET Boost Completing the signal chain is a powerful Magnitude MOSFET boost circuit positioned after the distortion and octave sections. Used on its own or in conjunction with the distortion circuit, the boost can increase volume, drive an amplifier harder, or add even more impact to an already saturated tone. With its own dedicated footswitch, it provides instant access to an additional level of intensity whenever needed.
