(2007 is a split year—verify fitment before ordering.) Why Upgrade to Carbon Fiber? Factory two-piece driveshafts are notorious for vibration issues, carrier bearing failures, and expensive repairs. By eliminating the carrier bearing and replacing the OEM shaft with a premium one-piece carbon fiber design, you gain a drivetrain that is stronger, smoother, and built to handle substantially more power and torque. Unlike steel driveshafts, carbon fiber naturally dampens vibration and harmonics while offering exceptional strength and reduced rotating mass. The result is a smoother driving experience, improved drivetrain efficiency, and greater reliability under extreme loads. From heavy towing to race-ready performance applications, carbon fiber delivers advantages that traditional materials simply cannot match Premium Materials. No Compromises. This driveshaft is engineered from end to end using premium components, starting with massive 4.310" OD seamless carbon fiber tubing featuring a 4.000" inside diameter and heavy-duty 0.155" wall thickness. Rated to handle over 8,000 ft-lbs of torque, this shaft is built for everything from extreme towing to race-ready performance applications. We pair the carbon fiber tube with genuine Spicer cold-forged sealed 1480 series U-joints, widely regarded as some of the strongest and most reliable U-joints available. Every driveshaft is precision balanced, fully assembled, and includes the transfer case slip yoke for a true bolt-in installation. Every component has been carefully selected to withstand the demands of heavy towing, high-horsepower builds, and the extreme torque produced by today's diesel trucks. Why Carbon Fiber Beats Aluminum Our aluminum driveshafts are an excellent upgrade over stock, but carbon fiber takes performance and to the next level. Carbon fiber offers: Superior vibration damping Reduced drivetrain harmonics Exceptional strength-to-weight ratio Increased critical speed capability Greater resistance to fatigue over time Improved vehicle protection against catastrophic driveline failures For customers building the ultimate Duramax drivetrain, carbon fiber is the premium choice. Customers consistently tell us they're impressed not only by the quality and craftsmanship, but by the immediate improvement in driveline smoothness and reliability. From extreme towing applications to race-ready diesel performance builds, this carbon fiber driveshaft is engineered for those who refuse to compromise. Built for the Toughest Jobs—And the Fastest Passes Whether your truck spends its life towing heavy loads, launching hard at the drag strip, or doing both, this driveshaft is built to handle it. Rated for over 8,000 ft-lbs of torque and equipped with premium Spicer 1480 series U-joints, it delivers the strength, stability, and confidence demanded by today's highest-performing Duramax trucks. Transmission 4WD Trans Code Duramax Diesel, Allison 1000 Wheel Base 168" Ready to Install Your driveshaft arrives fully assembled, balanced, and ready to bolt in. Installation is straightforward—simply slide the transfer case yoke into place and secure the rear U-joint straps. Important Installation Note: Carbon fiber driveshafts require adequate clearance and protection from heat sources. Before operating the vehicle, carefully inspect the entire driveshaft path and verify that the driveshaft cannot contact anything including brackets, heat shields, exhaust components, wiring, or foreign objects. Some applications may require removal of the factory carrier bearing bracket/crossmember to achieve proper clearance. Carbon fiber driveshafts must be protected from excessive heat, particularly at bonded areas. Extended exposure to temperatures above 240F (115C) can compromise the tubing and bond integrity. Proper heat shielding or insulation is strongly recommended, especially near catalytic converters, exhaust components, and other high-temperature areas. It is the installer's responsibility to verify proper clearance and heat protection. Any damage caused by rubbing, impact, abrasion, heat exposure, or improper installation will void all warranty coverage. Modified Vehicles: This driveshaft is designed to fit stock vehicle applications, double check your driveshaft length if your truck is lifted, leveled or modified.
