Exclusive One off a kind kokeshi by Nagisa Hirano!
I would like to introduce you all to Nagisa Hirano (23), a young, talented artist. With no less than 3 awards already to her name! And personally, I am certain that many more will follow! 😊❤️. Originally, She went to school to study Buddhist statue carving. After that, she became interested in kokeshi dolls, and she is now currently creating kokeshi while continuing to learn new techniques at a kokeshi workshop. Every kokeshi is unique, there will never be a second one!! So don’t wait and regret! 🫣 This unique creative sosaku kokeshi doll by artist Nagisa Hirano (平野 凪沙) beautifully blends the traditional Japanese Daruma motif with a charming, serene aesthetic. The doll features a rounded, vibrant red body adorned with white patterned accents along the bottom, evoking the classic shape of a Daruma doll which symbolizes perseverance and good luck. Instead of a fierce countenance, the hood frames a remarkably expressive, chubby-cheeked child's face with peacefully closed eyes, a gentle smile, and a finely detailed, textured fringe hairstyle. Accompanied by its original wooden sign inscribed with the title "Fuku dayori" (福だより), meaning "News of Good Fortune" or "Blessings," this piece showcases the artist's signature style, combining heartwarming, sculptural realism with traditional folk art elements. Because it is the first time her work is leaving Japan, she wanted to do something special with the boxes and had a carpenter in Shimonita make wooden boxes for this set! Height: 7cm Weight: 100g Please look carefully at the pictures to determine the condition of the kokeshi.
